Materials Processing Institute is at the ECCC 2017 Conference
The Materials Processing Institute's work is to be showcased on the international stage when three of its papers are presented at the 9th European Continuous Casting Conference (ECCC 2017).
The Institute will also be exhibiting at the conference.
If you are also attending and would like to meet for discussions while there, please send an email to enquiries@mpiuk.com or visit our exhibition stand.
The titles of these papers are:
- 'New insights into the effect of steel chemistry and caster design on micro alloying precipitation and surface quality of low carbon boron steels'
- 'Slab section thickness, precipitation and off-corner cracking in micro alloyed plate steel'
- 'Novel techniques for controlling heat transfer in the mould-strand gap'
ECCC 2017 is a unique forum for the European continuous casting community, which focuses on new and future developments of the continuous casting process, as well as addresses steel metallurgical issues.
Chris McDonald, CEO of the Materials Processing Institute, said: "The ECCC is a prestigious industry event and one that will be in the diaries of top professionals with an interest in the steel and metallurgy sectors. It is welcome news that the Institute and our staff have been recognised for their work and contributions, who rightfully deserve to be showcased internationally.
"The conference will also provide the perfect opportunity for colleagues in the sector to meet and learn about emerging developments within the steel industry, benefitting processes, research and development, as well as product development."
