Workshop - Making Tax Digital – New regulations explained
Making Tax Digital is a key part of the Government's plans to make it easier for individuals and businesses to get their tax right.
The vast majority of VAT-registered businesses with a taxable turnover above the VAT threshold (£85,000) will be required to keep digital VAT records and send returns using Making Tax Digital (MTD)-compatible software from April 2019. One of the reasons given for this move is that digital integration will eliminate many of the existing paper-based processes creating efficiencies and simplifying the whole process.
Ian Swain, Funding Manager at the Materials Processing Institute is running a free 2-hour workshop to help explain what MTD means to businesses, the workshop will cover:
• What is MTD?
• How will it affect my business and when?
• Can I still use a spreadsheet for my accounts?
• What do I need to do now to be compliant?
• How can I turn MTD into an opportunity for business improvement?
The workshop will also include an overview of the benefits of cloud-based accounting systems.
