Support the Rambling Red Lions as they take on the Mighty Hike for Macmillan Cancer Support
Naming themselves “The Rambling Red Lions” a team from the Materials Processing Institute will be taking on the Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike tomorrow raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support who provide specialist health care, information, and financial support to people affected by cancer. It also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care.
The Rambling Red Lions have pledged to raise £1500 for people living with cancer and you can still help them achieve this goal with a donation - Link to JustGiving page for donations

The Macmillan series of one-day hikes take place in some of the most beautiful and unspoiled parts of the UK. The Northumberland Coast Mighty Hike is a 26 mile walk along the picturesque Northumberland coastline from Alnwick Castle to Bamburgh Castle.
Taking on the challenge from the Institute are Sam Bell, Mark Allan, Melissa Bevington, Andy Richardson, Denise Atkins and Neil Carter.
Melissa said: "I am a cancer survivor and having a sister who unfortunately didn't, doing this hike combines doing something I love with such a worthy cause."
Sam, who has coordinated and set up the hike team said: "This is a good opportunity for different teams from the Institute to come together for the Macmillan Cancer Support workers."
Denise said: "I am doing this for my family and my friends brother who are battling cancer at the moment."
Today, in a final push to raise funds the team have held a Bake Off and pub quiz at the Institute. Good luck to all the Rambling Red Lions and also anyone else taking part in any of the Macmillan series of one-day hikes.
