Sustainable Practices and CO2 Sequestration: Pathways to Achieving Net Zero

This workshop takes place next week, on Thursday 12th September at Teesside University.

The presentation titled, "Driving Net Zero: The Role of Research and Technology Organisations in the Transition – Insights from the Materials Processing Institute" will highlight the critical role that Research and Technology Organisations (RTO) play in driving sustainable transitions across industries. Focusing on the work of the Institute, Hichem will discuss how RTOs are pivotal in advancing sustainable practices and process technologies, and key pathways to achieving net zero emissions.

The presentation will also cover the Institute’s contributions to developing innovative solutions that reduce carbon footprints and enhance industrial sustainability. It will showcase specific projects and collaborations that demonstrate the Institute’s leadership in fostering low-carbon technologies, optimising resource efficiency, and supporting industries in their journey towards sustainability. Additionally it will demonstrate how by leveraging our expertise and research capabilities, the Institute is helping industries to meet regulatory requirements and also adopt proactive measures that ensure long-term environmental and economic resilience.

The presentation will underscore the indispensable role of RTOs in catalysing the sustainable transformation of industries, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable future.
