Mark Allan, Green Steel Centre Lead, will be presenting at the 2nd EMEA Green Steel Summit 2024.
Presentation: The Steps to Reality: De-risking and Accelerating Net-Zero Grade Steel Development in Practice
Date: 28th – 29th October 2024
Venue: Frankfurt Spin Tower, Germany
As society, policy and markets demand credible supplies of ‘Green Steel’, developments are occurring across the supply chain to create verifiably ‘green’ products from radically less carbon intensive raw materials and well managed recycled feedstocks, using greener production and processing routes. This presentation will consider this from the point of view of the final pre-commercialisation innovation step - pilot scale demonstration and de-risking.
The presentation draws on experience and developments at the Institute’s Green Steel Pilot Plant to highlight the impact of independent, accessible, practical steelmaking R&D for the innovators and investors creating the new world of Green Steel.
If you are attending this conference Mark will welcome the opportunity to catch up there.

The 2nd EMEA Green Steel Summit 2024
Steel touches every aspect of our modern life and the steel industry faces mounting pressure to reduce its carbon footprint significantly. Developing and implementing workable and realistic pathways to net zero is a complex and pressing issue. The steel industry cannot solve this alone; it needs long term partners and collaborators to achieve this goal.
The 2nd EMEA Green Steel Summit 2024 will bring together green steel experts from the global marketplace and provides an excellent opportunity to meet with both manufacturers and users involved in the decarbonisation journey for the steel industry.
