Materials Processing Institute CEO joins CBI Regional Council
Chris McDonald, CEO of the Materials Processing Institute, has recently taken up a position as a member of the CBI regional council for the North East.
Chris commented, “This is a particularly important time to do this as the CBI is developing its response in relation to the UK leaving the EU and I have been able to contribute advice on the impact of innovation in industry and also where there can be new opportunities relating to international trade and Sovereign Capability.
I recently attended a round table event at the Jaguar Land Rover factory in Gaydon, Warwickshire, to discuss this topic directly with industry leaders and the Director General of the CBI, Carolyn Fairain. In the months ahead I will be heavily engaged in supporting government, both directly and through bodies such as the CBI, to ensure that innovation, technology and the foundation industries are properly considered in the post EU world for Britain”.
