Looking to make the case for North East Businesses

Chris McDonald has recently joined the North East Shadow Monetary Policy Committee.

This Committee is a partnership between The Northern Echo, the North East England Chamber of Commerce (NECC) and Darlington Building Society, which considers the state of the region's economy and gives experts from a variety of sectors the opportunity to argue their case for a shift, or hold, in the Bank of England's base rate.

Chris McDonald commented, "The Materials Processing Institute is very committed to supporting industrial, business and commercial growth throughout the North East region and I am delighted to join this committee to help ensure the North East voice is heard as monetary policy is formulated".

The Materials processing Institute is currently involved in ERDF funded projects to support pre-starts through the Tees Valley Business Compass Start-up programme and SMEs through the Innovate Tees Valley initiative. The Institute supports businesses throughout the North East and beyond by helping them to develop new products, technologies and services. This includes support in taking a concept from an initial idea, through technology research, product development, testing, launch and commercialisation. Companies have access to products, equipment, laboratory space, pilot plant, scale up, demonstrator facilities and office space. This includes investment supported by Tees Valley Local Enterprise Partnership through the Local Growth Fund.
